The Automotive Transformation Scheme (ATS) is a $3.347 billion program which ceases in December 2020.
The Automotive Transformation Scheme (ATS) is the Government’s centre piece of the New Car Plan for a Greener Future. ATS aims to encourage innovation and competitive investment by the Australian automotive industry to achieve an economically sustainable automotive manufacturing industry in Australia. What are the benefits? ATS has two stages; Stage 1—1 January 2011 to 31 December 2015, capped assistance of $1.5 billion. Stage 2—1 January 2016 to 31 December 2020 capped assistance $1 billion. Participants will be entitled to receive quarterly cash payments for 50% of the value of investment in R&D, 15% of the value of investment in eligible in Plant and Equipment.
